About Me

Hey there! I’m Katie, a eighteen-year-old high schooler trying to figure out her place in this world.

If you were to meet me in person you would notice three things about me immediately: I am blonde, I laugh way too much, and I am extremely awkward (or at least I feel like I am and it probably shows).

You may have been able to piece it together already that this chick typing away on a keyboard is an introvert.

Once I become comfortable around certain people, I open up and they get a look at my personality, who I really am: An over-excited, generally optimistic, open-minded girl who has a good sense of humor and a strong passion for making people smile.

When I write, my personality is the only thing that comes through my writing because (Thank goodness) awkwardness doesn’t translate the same way through the written word.

I have a strong desire to spread the message of acceptance and endless kindness. I mean it’s just crazy the effect you have on both you and the person on the receiving end of your comments, and only you have the power to decide what that effect is. It’s beyond amazing what can happen when you decide to build people up instead of tearing them down.

I have always wanted to create content online and considered YouTube many times and it always came back to me realizing how awkward that would be for people to watch me struggle to try and make eye contact with a camera. So here I am, creating my own blog.

I love to write and what better way to test my creative abilities than by writing about my daily life, experiences, and interests and then posting it online for the world to see? So hello world. This is me.

Me: A Quick Summary

An 80s music-loving, coffee-crazed, aspiring writer who dreams of a world where love, acceptance, and respect are the unspoken principles that every human being knows, observes, and acts upon.

Pretty much anything 80s, Sinatra, pop, rock or country. So let me get just a little more specific.

A few of my favorite oldies artists are Elton John, Rick Springfield, George Michael, Billy Joel, Bob Seger, and Frank Sinatra.

A few of my favorite artists that are stilling producing music are Maroon 5 Julia Michaels, OneRepublic, Keith Urban, Dierks Bentley, Sia, Ed Sheeran, and Camila Cabello.

I love historical fiction and mysteries, but you won’t often catch me with a romance novel. Here are 6 of my favorite books:

  • The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
  • To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
  • And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie
  • Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling
  • The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
  • The Help by Kathryn Stockett

Movies & TV Shows

I looove action movies (Especially Marvel). I’m not really the chick flick type of gal, but I do like a good romantic comedy. Some of my fave movies are The Original Star Wars Trilogy, Dirty Dancing, Grease, The Princess Bride, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and The Great Gatsby (The Robert Redford version . . . obviously).

Some of my favorite TV shows are Murder She Wrote (Jessica Fletcher is my fave mystery solving lady ever), F.R.I.E.N.D.S, Supernatural, Psych, Bones, Castle, Criminal Minds, and the Golden Girls when I need a good laugh. I promise I will get around to Stranger Things eventually, okay?

Nine times out of ten you’ll find me at my house chilling with my mom or my sis or I’ll be typing away on my laptop cranking out blog posts. BUT if you happen to see me out and about you may find me at a coffee shop, Target, any local boutiques, or Dunkin’.

Some of my favorite things to do are order a pizza and watch a movie at home with my mama, eat my weight in ice cream (With help of course), read and respond to content by other bloggers, scroll aimlessly through Instagram and Pinterest for hours, and last but not least, hang out with my amazing sister, Emily. Em is the coolest gal I’ve ever met, and I’d love it if you’d read more about her here.
